Epic D20 Coins & a 13th Age recommendation

Greetings, friends of the Dragon Empire!

We hope that your 13th Age adventures continue apace. The 13th Age tokens and the Dwarven Tower coins are in constant use in our games, thanks again for helping us make them.

We're just finishing a Kickstarter (12 hours to go!) that you might like: we are making Epic D20 Coins. These are are new and heavy poker-chip sized metal coins with a more elaborate version of our D20 design by Lynda Mills. They've turned out really nicely.

They make excellent reroll tokens for any D20 RPG. I have always used D20 coins in my 13th Age game for my house rule: if a player does not roll an icon association this game; they get a D20 coin and can cash it in for a reroll. (Many is the time I have regretted that when a player saves it up in case they miss their Daily power attack!) 

I've also just started running 13th Age Glorantha, which is incredible, and full of ideas you can port back to regular 13th Age. For 13G, I am using the Copper Epic D20 Coins as a token to remind each player that they have not yet narrated their rune. The heavier coin also makes a great D2, and spins really well as a heads or tails flip.

I used that in my first 13G game to determine if a Trickster who was hanging off a bridge was set down on his head or his feet when he was pulled up. You can guess the result. (See photo below)

Deluxe Metal Meeples Kickstarter

We hope you've been getting some good gaming in with 13th Age icon tokens and Dwarven Tower coins that you so kindly funded.

Our Deluxe Metal Meeples designed by Daniel Solis are super charming metal meeples. They are solid metal and standard meeple size (16 mm tall and 10 mm thick), which gives them a pleasing heft. Best of all, each meeple has a unique pattern, different antique finish, and translucent colour enamel.

Here's the thing, we never would have thought of doing these without your support. Developing the enamel for the Icon Tokens opened our eyes to a whole new world of colour. So thanks again.

Until next time, I hope your 13th Age campaigns are going great. Our heroes in our home campaign are now 7th level, but I fear that the tide of meso-American dinosaurs boiling up out of the serpent mounds of Utah might soon overwhelm them. And given that just today I got my copy of Book of Demons from Pelgrane, I can think of new ways to make things even worse... er, I mean, more exciting. Game on, everybody!

2017 ENnies Nomination !

Hi everyone -

We've popped in to share the splendid news that the 13th Age Icon Tokens have been nominated for Best Aid/Accessory in the 2017 ENnies !

Voting is now open until 21 July. The zombitastic 13th Age adventure Swords Against the Dead by Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan has also been nominated, for Best Free Product.

We completely could not have made these tokens without you! A huge set like this in beautiful colour is a risky proposition, and your enthusiasm made it all happen.

Swords Against Owlbears

Hopefully this news has got you inspired to play some 13th Age this weekend! Good news, this year's Free RPG Day adventure Swords Against Owlbears is now available for free PDF download from Pelgrane, and it is an absolute hoot. Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan puts an ingenious spin on a Doctor Moreau story. We had a hilarious time playing this at GateKeeper Games here in Melbourne, and I think you will too.
